Professionals that hold eligible certifications or licenses are able to transfer their credentials between other IC&RC jurisdictions.
IC&RC strives to ease the stress and anxiety of individuals needing to move their credentials or licenses from one jurisdiction to another through its reciprocity process. Individuals holding a credential through an IC&RC member board may be eligible for reciprocity into other IC&RC Member Boards.
Not all certifications and licenses are eligible for reciprocity. It is important that certified professionals investigate their ability to reciprocate prior to relocating to another jurisdiction. It is recommended to reciprocate at least three months prior to a credential’s expiration.
Please note that IC&RC can only facilitate reciprocity from one IC&RC Member Board to another.
You can ascertain if your credential or license is eligible for reciprocity by reviewing the IC&RC Member Board profile for your jurisdiction on the IC&RC Member Board directory.
Reciprocity Process
- Those seeking reciprocity must contact their IC&RC Member Board in the jurisdiction to which they want to relocate to learn about the requirements to reciprocate credential.
- The professional then contacts their current IC&RC Member Board for a Reciprocity Application.
- The professional completes the application and returns it to their current board and all application fees have been paid.
- The current board verifies application and sends it to IC&RC.
- IC&RC verifies the application, notifies the professional, and sends the application to the new board.
- The new board contacts the professional when the process is completed.
